We bought a tri fuel generator. It will run of gasoline, propane or natural gas. Since we have natural gas in our home we opted for this type. It will not run everything at once by I installed a 6) circuit manual transfer switch and tied in the more essential feeds.

This is the one I bought. I tried it on both gas and natural gas and it runs well. Fortunately I have not had to use it yet. This is a standard generator with a tri fuel conversion kit added. You can buy the kits seperate for the DIYers.
