Hi Friends and Happy New Year to all of you!

http://uprisingorganics.com/

We've had a wonderful 2016 so far welcoming our new baby Meira into our family...such joy!

As we settle into winter and dream of spring we'd like to let you know that our 2016 website is updated with almost 40 new and returning varieties and a handful of neat tools we are excited to share with you. We are also pleased to join the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI) and hope you'll take a moment to read about what this means in the opening pages of our catalog. On that note, catalogs ship out tomorrow and our inventory racks are filling up with packets as we get ready for our main shipping season. This marks our 10th year selling Northwest grown & adapted, open-pollinated, organic seed, and we are grateful for you and your support and encouragement that has allowed us to pursue this work that we love so much.

2015 was a very successful year for us on the farm. Hot dry weather tends to be a boon for seed production and we had it in spades. Crops came in early and clean giving us great stocks of most seeds. This year we've filled a few gaps in our offerings like leeks, added a nice selection of pretty special dry beans and tomatoes, and are offering some beautiful insectary/pollinator attracting varieties like tulsi and sainfoin. In addition a major project that we are starting to address is the gap between demand and supply for high quality organic cut flower cultivars. We're pleased to add Earl Grey Larkspur, Florist Blue Boy corn flower, and Nimbus and Miss Willmott sweet peas to our existing collection of choice cut flowers. Look for many more to come in the next couple seasons and as always, we welcome your suggestions.

Thanks for stopping in to have a look at what's happening this year at Uprising Seeds. You can find us online at uprisingorganics.com. If you're getting impatient to have a look at the catalog, there's a pdf version linked at the bottom of our home page that can be flipped through like an e-reader.

We wish you many happy hours in the garden and in the kitchen with friends in 2016.

In gratitude,

Crystine, Brian, Rowan, new Autumn baby Meira, Rio, and Eric

Common sense is a flower that doesn't grow in everyone's garden!
