The stock clawback was fully covered in The Seattle Times story I linked yesterday.

I can't comment on Mr. Mudd's reasoning. Maybe he had concerns with his radio interview on August 20, 2008, just weeks prior to his head hitting the floor, where he allegedly asserted that Fannie Mae had "about zero percent" exposure to subprime loans.

JMHO.
