Abu Dhabi can no longer spend $1 billion a year on GlobalFoundries

Abu Dhabi may be looking to exit the semiconductor industry to, instead, focus on its weakening crude oil sector, Sundararajan wrote. Annual maintenance capital expenditures for GlobalFoundries exceeds $1 billion without accounting for growth.
"Perhaps (Abu Dhabi) does not want to find itself footing the bill for semiconductor facilities that consume a lot of capital," he wrote.
