US satellite pay-TV giant DirecTV (now part of AT&T) is currently testing Ultra-HD sport transmissions ahead of a formal launch of a 4K service “early in 2016”.

DirecTV’s Phil Goswitz (SVP, Video & Space Communications) confirmed the plan at the recent TranSPORT conference in New York.

Could it be that this is why AA has been so quiet? A deal of such a magnitude in the OTC is unheard of and would need to be executed very cautiously and professionally..lots of time needed to make sure all the paperwork is solidified and both companies are completely ready to disclose...
