I think the thing that it does assist with in moving the process along is in the extensive documentation.
Without fast track and the monitoring committee the paper submission process waits, while we are able to accumulate and the FDA should be aware of events as they are happening.
I believe the amount of documentation is in the range of 500,000 pages.

Guns have now surpassed car accidents in cause of deaths in the USA.
