I'm serious; mold re-works, etc. on that first run of 300 or so. Take a look at the financials. There is some free prototype work mixed in there, but they definitively lost money on that first run. Plus, the sales were so low from it, it doesn't contribute anything favorable to the bottom line. You'd hope that they'd cut ties, though, if they didn't see making money on run 2.

In all fairness, personally, I think the knife "blemishes," were overstated. They weren't serious flaws. They were literally small blemishes that didn't affect use, just minor appearance flaws. I'm wondering if that's why they went to black - just a guess. Those types of appearance issues would likely be less noticeable in black.
