Trying to understand the math here....

in a reverse spit, each 5, 10, or 20 outstanding shares are replaced by 1 share, each with value of 5, 10, or 20 times the original share, thus maintaining equity.

why then, does the quantity of authorized, unissued shares increase? I would think they would decrease as well.

any enlightenment is appreciated.
