I had a good laugh at this piece of nonsense in Jerry's latest offering:

Special Foods that have an incredible array of health benefits well beyond just their nutrient value are considered ‘Super Foods’. Hemp is an incredible multi-purpose plant that can be used for anything from paper, rope, and cloth. It is also one of the most nutritionally well-balanced foods on the planet.

I happened yesterday to buy a sealed cellophane pack of what was labelled "Superfood Leaf Blend" not for its alleged superfood qualities but because it was a varied leaf mix to have as a green side salad. The back of the pack stated " Contains 5 Superfoods Kale, Baby Chard leaves, Red Cabbage, Baby Red Beet leaves and Carrot". So there they were en masse a humble leaf pack chock full of superfoods. I recently read an article in which was discussed the superfoods hype where the writer observed nobody seems able to define what a superfood actually is. Well, I think I have the answer now: a superfood is any food at all that a commercial concern says and advertises it as being one. Apparently even carrot can be a superfood if it is authoritatively stated at point of sale to be so.

I also wondered why Jerry's hemp-derived paper, rope and cloth (or was he talking about the fiber-bearing hemp foliage proper?) are claimed to be nutritionally well-balanced foods. I'd have thought them to be much too chewy and indigestible.
