In a CNBC article today, they state that the applications for unemployment continue to drop, and this is cited as wonderful news. http://www.cnbc.com/2015/11/25/us-weekly-jobless-claims-nov-14-2015.html It would be, if the labor force participation rate were to be rising, but it is not. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, it stands at 62.4%, which is the lowest it has been since the peanut farmer was president. So many are underemployed as well. There are plenty of minimum wage jobs out there for burger flippers, but not many career positions that support a middle class lifestyle. http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS11300000
