...well....some would characterize it as a "Hail Mary"

Well, Hail Mary is something a losing side would do when they're running out of time.

At this stage, Intel does not seem like a losing side nor are they running out of time due to the following reasons:

(1) Growth forecasted for 2016
(2) Pretty good dividend increase
(3) More enterprises forecasted to switch to Windows 10 in 2016 (likely with new hw)
(4) New Q1 products such as Altera/Xeon, 3DXP-based Optane & DIMMS, and AP/modem integrated mass-market SoFIA

Further, Intel seems to have shrewdly pulled back on the Tablet market as it imploded over the last few quarters. Growth with profitability in the Tablet space seems to be the new mantra.

All of us typically look for evidence to substantiate our positions. I was not overly confident about Intel about a month back - in fact, I was quite skeptical if 2016 would be a turnaround year. But the recent data points in favor of Intel are pretty compelling.

So overall Andy Grave, this seems to be a good point to change your sentiment on Intel.
