Some funds/firms are going to make huge returns by taking long positions in heavily naked shorted companies. I can see this happening over and over again and regulators will not be able to stop it. A few more clearing firms and a few more hedge funds that are bankrupted because of their huge short positions could actually help to clean up some of the trash present in our markets. Survival of the fittest and the pendulum always swings back. I think we are just now beginning to see the tip of the iceberg.
