This happened to me in 09 when I was trading in and out of a bank stock multiple times a day. They gave me a warning first if I remember correctly. Then they put in place the 90 day. I could only make trades after the trade settled which was 3 days.

Then I realized the game was rigged and traders don't really win. Hence why I went super long the bank stock and have reaped the rewards very nicely. I have been slowly moving out of the bank stock and into xxii, which I am now super long.

Rinse, repeat, get taxed at 15% vs 25% and up.... No brainer.
