I think it's actually a better move on their part.
1) No longer need to pay large sponsorship fees.
2) They had to have seen this coming, or even willingly want to part ways just due to the fact that they've sponsored the whole elevation fight team, made a training facility, and it's gaining steam among the UFC fighters themselves.

Why sponsor the "UFC" when you have a large portion of its individual fighters already in your camp?

Makes a whole lot of sense to me.
