What if islamic refugees bombed a crowded street in the U.S.? Well, a pair of islamic refugee brothers bombed the Boston marathon and somehow the republic survived, and we didn't spend an extra trillion attacking someone to assuage american fears. Republican drums of war are being pounded with a backup slap-bass line running the usual riffs. Could republicans possibly want to use fear of terrorism for political gain? They are allowing the terrorists to win by quivering in fear.
The isis savages need to be stopped, but i don't think it is our job to lead the charge. If they aren't enough of a threat for the locals to rally against them, then why should we go verklempt over a band of bad guys who are conducting a P.R. world tour by attacking everyone else like russia, france, and us? We could go to war again and then bankrupt the empire, then the bad guys win. I say help the locals with air cover if they ask for it, but boots on the ground mean more hatred against us eventually and the bush wars have already done enough recruiting for jihadists to last a generation or two. The best leadership is sometimes knowing when to not blindly charge into another hornet's nest situation. Didn't we learn anything from the bush crusades?
