The lack of REAL reporters who know their history AND fewer newspapers takes it toll...one only has to watch the current "debates" and watch how the mods, supposedly reporters, deal with an answer that has nothing to do with their question and they don't follow-up - I'm not sure if the mods ask only assigned questions with little/no knowledge of the background, or they've been instructed to keep the "debate" moving before the audience leaves and the network loses ratings - it's probably a combination of both, making the "debates" meaningless.
Another scary trend is most young people get their "news" from their preferred blog/s and believe what they read; they don't read credible news sources.
