"The genesis of WAM came from Kaplan teaching at the non-profit Young Entrepreneurs Academy last year, when a student brought up the idea of a 'vibracelet' that keeps the wearer from nodding off in places like class.

'That technology is out there already,' Kaplan said. 'But that notion started me thinking. It just morphed.'

The hardware for the watch already exists. And the company hired a computer engineer to help in developing the software that is key to the device.

And if existing smartwatch technology turns out to have the same hardware functionality as WAM, Kaplan said, Torvec might also offer it as an app."

Ummmm... Shouldn't there have been a business plan to go along with this?
