1752 EDT - One of Twitter's (TWTR) first employees is returning to the company. Jessica Verrilli tweeted that she is rejoining the messenging company as senior director of corporate development and strategy just five months after she left for Google Ventures . Verrilli's return signals the kind of influence having a co-founder at the helm of the company can have. Co-founder Jack Dorsey was appointed permanent CEO of Twitter earlier this month. Verrilli was among the stream of notable departures during Dick Costolo's troubled final year as CEO. Costolo stepped down June 30 . Verrilli is a well-known Twitter employee for having helped acquire over two dozen companies, including Periscope and Vine. She was previously a director on the corporate development strategy team.
