Two very different types of pain! The pain in the pancreatic cancer study comes from the tumor growing around the blood vessels and nerves, so shrinking the tumor will ease that pain and potentially make the tumor operable. The pain related to ascites is from the accumulation of fluid in the peritoneal cavity (lining of the stomach).
