Probably not.
I prefer shorting the calls. Otherwise known as "selling to open".
Shares shorted have to be bought back. Calls just expire worthless and go "poof" into thin air on expiration weekend. Much simpler, less hassle.
Plus I get a "premium" relative to the share price when I sell because of the time value. Best of all there's always someone living in fantasyland that's willing to take the other side of the trade.
