Of course Volkswagen will take prejudgment before cancelling any project and PLUG might be on their list.
Main point here that PLUG project will save money and help getting rid of contaminants which accumulators create. Kind of a blessing step.
In case of VW, they have to show to the world that they are fighting pollution and they are interesting to make a progress. I would call such step as "Political toward the world".
So PLUG can be there "In the right place and the right time".
