I took Edward at his word when he wrote "LMAO or LMFAO is not about the content of the post".
I don't think anyone reasonable, including me, would disagree with the view that publicly mocking a poster is a personal attack, and laughing at a funny message isn't. Though many other strategies that are commonly used to mock posters besides "LMFAO" are allowed, but that's another topic.
I asked: "Why are one-word posts saying "BULLSHIT!!!" allowed, but one-word posts saying "LMFAO!!!" not? ". My interpretation of Edward's answer to my question isn't remotely close to yours.
The single worded response "BULLSHIT!!!", in addition to being purposefully rude, is usually intended to mean that the post is a lie. It's bullshit. The poster just posted a lie!!! By definition, someone who posts lies is a liar. Ergo the poster a liar.
The assertion that "BULLSHIT!!!!" is decidedly on topic because it clearly speaks to the actual content of the post, and only to that, isn't as obviously true to me as it is to everyone else.
I'm sure all get around to accepting this, after I finish working through the anger and depression stages.
