One of the difficulties in trying to figure out the direction of a firm is the tendency to think it is one way only. Rather, it is like the directions given by Yogi Berra - "When you come to the fork in the road, you take it." In fact, Yogi's house was in the middle of a circle and it did not matter which way you went, you still got to the house. Well, that is the same thing with Elite and success. There are multiple ways; providing they get FDA approval. So, the deal with Epic does not preclude a buyout. There are many pharma firms with partnerships that end up being bought out by another firm, or even the firm they have the partnership with. It is only one scenario out of a number that are possible. In fact, the Epic partnership affords Elite a stronger negotiating position and Nasrat knows that.
