Correct me if I am wrong, but it was published in 1977. The SPA of the REDUCE-IT (design of the study) was signed on August 5, 2011. Why do you think that the design did not consider all available, relevant data / trends?

Meanwhile your argument is valid (lifestyle is improving) I do not remember any new info / trend (raised by you) which was available / published after the finalization of the protocol. (I mean new data - ie.: death rate for recent years - was published, but it did not show a new trend, the trend was exist earlier also.)
