A traditional phase 3 of the size needed to address 2.5 million CFS patients would take about 30mil and 3.5 years. Ain't gonna happen. The conditional approval requested by the 17 experts probably won't happen either. So it will be interesting to see what the solution is - something in between perhaps. FDASIA and the 21st century drug act are supposed to address orphan drugs and devastating diseases with no treatments. According to the experts w/ 4 decades of experience, ampligen works for 25-40%. I think the gov't has got to show they are a partner in the solution this time around. I don't think hemispherx is willing, or can afford to, go it alone.
