OT/an aside - the above reminds me of a philosophy course I selected to take in lieu of a mostly mandatory religious class at a Dominican college. The professor was an emaciated, lanky, persnickety dude with salt & pepper hair & a freckled complexion. He almost fit the bill for an Ichabod Crane character with an added square shaped head & one "evil" eye that never opened nor closed.
Came time for the final. Hours & hours spent studying philosophical discourses that were obscure, trite & lost to one's senses of reality. Star Trek was in its heyday & I prayed to be BEAMED UP!!
One question & one question only - WHY? I almost sh-- in my pants!!!!
The clown, the idiot of the class, wrote something & within 2 minutes - walked out. Everyone, including the "Ex Machina" prof let out a laughing roar that gave me time to digest a maalox & exlax combination. I hopelessly continued for the next 1 1/2 hours deluding myself.
Two weeks later, the grades arrived. I passed with a C+. Through the grapevine, the dunce got an A.
