Soros being in should be viewed the same as any other institutional investor. He could choose to screw the stock price or he could help to stabilize it. For now, I'm counting it as a plus because he is creating positive trading pressure with his buy-in, and obviously whoever buys the small stuff for the fund sees some sort of potential for profit. To anyone claiming that Soros is a devil, or that this should negatively influence how we look at the purchase, you clearly are not in the right business.
