I completely understand the issue with settling. However as even BM has mentioned on past CC the political and technology landscape has changed. Getting huge infringement findings especially for companies like IDCC going up against the big boys just aren't going to happen anymore. A cost benefit has to be weighed in the legal fee expense side. Its easily a 100-200M expense to go to court with no guarantee. Its been talked about before over the years on rumors of what NOK and other companies have offered but after Friday IDCC needs to take a hard look at cutting deals instead of 5-7 year legal battles.
