From a quick reading, it looks like WDDD withdrew parts of the case that they lost on the claim construction, Markman, hearing. This is not a problem since the other parts of the claims are still in tact and going forward. I would more view this as 'bookkeeping' for the case. One important part to remember, is that WDDD only has to win on any one claim in order for ATVI to be held infringing.
The other recent motion was a motion to seal exhibits that ATVI filed, which is what I would expect since they do not want everyone in the world to be able to look at whatever was filed, probably source code for some of their products. Again, standard items that I would expect at this stage and not of much importance.
The next important step will be the conference that, I believe, is still scheduled for September 9. The results of that should be a trial date. That will be important.
