DJ Yak Commun To Hire Invest Bank, Consider Sale Of Co >YAKC
WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Yak Communications Inc. (YAKC) said Monday that its board has formed a committee of independent directors to consider strategic alternatives, including the sale of the Canadian company.
The Toronto-based telecommunications company also will hire an investment banking firm to assist it in its review of strategic alternatives, according to the company's filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Yak Communications last month reported a net loss of $407,000, or 3 cents a share, in its third quarter ended March 31, swinging from net income of $1.9 million, or 15 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue during the quarter declined to $22.7 million from $23.9 million a year earlier.
