Thank you for reporting some of sunspotters previous claims. The first was that "only homeopathic medicines have no side effects". Untrue. As an example, Zicam, a homeopathic remedy containing zinc to decrease the duration of common cold symptoms when placed intranasally with a swab was pulled from the market because it caused problems with loss of smell.
Another claim was one can be absolutely sure that if no side effects are present with Sucanon that it has no beneficial effects either. Also that any medicine, aside from homeopathic or placebo, has side effects period. These statements are a misapplication of logic and scientific principle. Side effects by definition are undesirable effects of a medications use, such as weight gain with insulin and stressing "wearing out" the pancreas with sulfonylureas. In contrast Sucanon studies showed a loss of visceral body fat for example. The reverse statement of no side effects means no therapeutic efficacy is not supportable.
That is why my discussion went on to cover the definitions and difference between side effects and contraindications. In particular, Sucanon is contraindicated in type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetics.
My goal here is to explain the science and stick to the reported information on Sucanon.
