Difficult to keep up with the statements...
"Not an independent clinical trial"
Actually, Dr Jiminez did conduct an independent clinical trial and was impressed enough with the results that he became a stockholder. He indeed was a stockholder at the time of presentation of the study results at meeting of EASD in Barcelona Spain. That does not make the trial results invalid. At any conferences I attend medical research presenters are required to disclose any financial interests pertinent to the presentation. That way, the audience can make their own assessment of the information presented.
Personally, I view the Doctors investment as a positive thing, it reminds me of a previous men's clothing store commercial where the owner said he liked the product quality so much that he bought the company.
