(Kitco News) - Shares of gold- and silver-mining companies that trade in North America surged sharply higher this week, with many big mining stocks posting double-digit gains. Mining shares gained support as underlying gold prices skyrocketed to a fresh six-week high boosted by investor safe-haven buying and risk aversion amid plunging global stock prices.

As of Thursday’s close, Comex December gold futures were up since last Friday’s close. The contract’s official close Thursday was $1,153.20 an ounce, a gain for the week of $42.10, or 3.78%.


Not NBRI though, NBRI still sits at no bid 57 ft a thousand light years from the gold.
