A man pulled off a daring heist of The Louvre museum in Paris, successfully eluding all security and taking several priceless works of fine art. Once outside, he loaded the paintings in his van and took off speeding. But just a few blocks from the museum his van ran out of gas and so the gendarmes caught up with him and arrested him. Later, a news reporter asked the culprit, "That heist of yours was so incredible and well-planned. So how could you make the pathetic mistake of not having your getaway vehicle fully fueled?" He answered, "But monsieur, that was the reason that I did the robbery in the first place: I needed the Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh."
