This is actually a really good idea.

Why not have battles of the bands in the Seattle-Tacoma area? Approach some bar owners and bands and make an offer to run a yearly contest. The revenues from each battle is divided, naturally, between the bar owners, the musicians and a very small amount for RLTR.

RLTR maintains the website. The voters can go there to vote and buy the music products (CDs, T-shirts, etc.) of the bands. When they spend money, they get more votes. When they go to a show, the ticket they are issue contains the information required for them to go online and vote.

At the end of the year the best bands are brought together for a final battle and the winner gets the big price. A band can participate in many battles throughout the year. The best bands are determined by a formula: the most wins, etc..

After about a week, a particular battle is closed and you cannot vote for that battle anymore.

All the concert can be recorded.
