Ok, I don't usually like to use wiki, but the data seem correct. Take a look at the Energy densities of energy media table and you can make ratios from the energy density column.

1 gal of diesel = 1.13 gal of gasoline = 1.17 gal of Jet A = 1.73 of LNG = 4.28 gal of CNG @ 3,600 psi = 4.54 gal of liquid hydrogen = 8.5 gal of compressed hydrogen @ 10k psi

In short, hydrocarbons are the best way to store and transport energy when space is important (cars, trucks, long term/ distance storage).
