No doubt momentum, day traders, short term traders are shorting or not involved with Gold at all and just letting it bottom out. Long term investors will continue to add and from what you've pointed out institutional/hedge fund players may believe we are near enough to the bottom to add and everything about Comstock mining warrants their attention to do it with them.
I've never regretted taking profits after the reverse split yrs ago and here recently (the past 4 months) am convinced it's time to regenerate a vested interest.
