There's "only" 325 million because PPHM did a 1 for 5 reverse split.
Without that there would be over a billion already.
AND.....GILD had FIVE 2 for 1 splits which translates to 32 times the shares because of FORWARD SPLITS NOT DILUTION, which means backing out their splits, GILD would have only 46 million!
