Extremely accurate, in order for a whistleblower award to be granted. The information in question must result in litigation that results in a large settlement or judgment. The whistleblower is given a percentage of that money.
Since 2013, when the program was put in place, 14 whistleblowers have received awards. Their names haven't been made public, but at a guess, I'd say all or most were employees of the targeted companies. I'd venture further that none of the lawsuits in question involved penny junk.
