12:10 EDT - Newly-merged Kraft Heinz(KHC) could have its sights set on more acquisitions, like rival General Mills (GIS), says Bernstein analyst Alexia Howard. She upgrades KHC to outperform, based on the theory that "returns will likely improve if further acquisitions are made, which seems probable given the highly active profile of 3G Capital," Kraft's new owners, who acquired Heinz in 2013. Howard expects another acquisition in two to three years and possibly an eventual roll-up of KHC, GIS, Mondelez(MDLZ) and Pepsi's (PEP) Frito-Lay. The benefit would be cost-cutting and margin improvement, which seems to matter more to investors than revenue growth, she said. (annie.gasparro@wsj.com)
