Hi Soxfan, under Reagan there was his history tax cut legislation, welfare reform and legislation that made the social security system solvent for another 50 years. Not sure how the Democrats voted on them.

Under Clinton (1995 - 2000), just about every legislation brought forth by the Republican congress was shot down (or veto threatened) by Clinton and Democrats. So Democrats are just as good at doing what you're accusing the Republicans of doing.

Has there been any great legislation under Obama ? I wouldn't count the Affordable Care Act as great. It seems more of a shell game that increased premiums on the middle class -- thus actually making it less affordable to most -- to subsidize premiums for the poor.

I'm not saying there weren't any important ones. A lot of the financial stimulus and banking reform legislation was definitely needed.
