'Women in Comics' panel to meet at Worcester library

WORCESTER - The Worcester Public Library, 3 Salem Square, will host a panel discussion, "Women in Comics," from 2:30 to 4 p.m. July 25 at the library. Panelists include:

Robin Brenner, a teen librarian at the Brookline Public Library. An active member of YALSA, she has served on multiple awards committees. She is the editor-in-chief of the graphic novel review website No Flying No Tights.

Sorana Gatej, the marketing coordinator and gaming master at That’s Entertainment in Worcester. A graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art, she is also a freelance designer and illustrator.

Dani Jones, an artist and writer who makes comics and illustrates children’s books. She is the creator of the webcomic My Sister the Freak and the picture book "Monsters Vs. Kittens," published by Stan Lee’s Kids Universe.

Jennie Wood, the creator of "Flutter," which The Advocate named one of the best graphic novels of 2013. She is also a contributor to the FUBAR comic anthologies, and an instructor at Grub Street, Boston’s independent writing center.

The program is presented as part of the library’s Summer Reading Program.
