A thought for all of us to always keep in mind...especially when it seems like all odds are against us and satan is having his way with us. We know satan is the master of lies and deception. He is very good at tempting us and leading us astray when we lose sight of Jesus. satan knows just exactly when and where to push our buttons to coax us into doing things that we normally would not do! Yes...satan is a master in his attempt to destroy humans but we need to also remember that we humans dont really need a lot of persuasion from anyone or anything to fall short and sin. We most often are our own worst enemy in doing wrong. However, there is something for us to keep in mind always. Something very important happened at the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Not only were we made alive in Christ, but satan was also defeated. His defeat is not pending, nor is it in the future, satan's defeat has already happened. The only power that satan has is the power that almighty God allows him to have. Yes, satan is ruling the earth today but only because God is allowing him. When we keep a close personal relationship with Jesus...when we spend time in Gods word daily...satan really dont have a chance with us and with our heart and mind in tune with Jesus we are all so much less likely to let ourselves stumble from that path of rightiousness. That dont mean satan isnt going to try...DAILY....it means that when we are born-again...with the power of the Holy Spirit living in us....satan really has no power over us.
