Like I have said and Microsoft confirms it they could be liable

for up to 2 billion, but if that gets trebled they are liable

for 6 billion and probably a ban. Microsoft is holding a

dead mans hand and they are not about to go all in with a

bluff. They are big and have lots of money but they are not

totally stupid and willing to risk 4 additional billion, versus

settling. I still think they settle and I think it is going

to be very close if not 2 billion. The reason for this price

is IDCC can not lose the integrity of the company and let

infringers not pay and later settle for less than what they

would have paid. The only way to convince the infringers to

pay is win a treble suit or full settlement. When you hold

the winning cards you don't settle for half the pot.


Let me add separate from Microsoft is the arbitration awards

should soon be granted and the cash register will be ringing.

IDCC also needs to quit messing around and sue the hell out

of Apple for selling unlicensed products. Its time for either

Apple or their subcontractors to pay.
