Mr.Piketti doesn't get it, sorry. As long as Greece refuses to grow up to become a normal state with a normal system of taxation, all debt relief brings back ,Groundhog day'. We had that in 2012, what did it help? Now in 2015, next in 2018, 2021 etc.? Why should all other European countries tax their people to the max just to allow the Greek millionaires and billionaires an easy life? Two details as examples: Not long ago Germany offered to send experts to help building or improving fiscal authorities -Greece simply refused. Since several years, Greece would have had the opportunity to hunt 1,991 defrauders who brought their money to Switzerland -nothing happened, only lately the first proceedings seem to have been opened, and instead the government prosecuted the journalist who published the story:

Greece has it's hands in all other European countries' pockets. Sounds familiar with the American government's addiction to Fannie's and Freddie's earnings?

Rules that were meant to be broken...

German hypocrisy -perhaps (based on the past, for sure)! But say what you want, Germany is in a position where everything it does will be considered wrong from one side; either giving too much or too little leadership in Europe. And for America talk is cheap; it's easy to spend other people's money (see above).
