Cyclone's mysterious, one-sided, ongoing relationship with James Crank

I've been very, very busy lately and unable to post; since a lot of good stuff has been put up since I last weighed in I will try to comment later in the week as I catch up.

On the Yahoo site someone noted quotes from engineer James D. Crank that are highly critical of the Cyclone project. By all accounts Mr. Crank has officially separated himself from any relationship with Cyclone, as though his comments haven't made that very clear.

Nonetheless, on the Cyclone Land Speed Record site we see that the very first advisor named is ..... Jim Crank!

I suppose Cyclone could plead they are too swamped to remove his name but, since they had the time to link that site to their new Idiegogo site, it seems they could have taken him off lest they advertise their supporters falsely. Not that they didn't blatantly splash the name of every contributor to the Chuk Williams effort on the side of their trailer, That was an interesting conceit as their own press clippings state they joined the Williams effort (rather than vice versa) and thus were not the recipients of donations to that team.

But, back to Jim Crank. Word has it that he feels he received bad information while writing his white paper for Cyclone and has requested it be pulled. The paper is still on their website although they include the improperly spelled name "Rankin" in the link rather than the correct name "Rankine" (as found in Mr. Crank's paper). This is not the first time Cyclone misspells the name of the thermodynamic cycle they are promoting although it is refreshing that they don't consistently insist on referring to it as a "Schoell" cycle; a laughable conceit if you google the definition of thermodynamic cycles.

It is apparent that Mr. Crank does feel his white paper is obsolete as he has written a larger, more comprehensive and extensively altered version that supersedes it:

Automotive Rankine Cycle White Paper

Sooooo.... the question remains. If Mr. Crank is now obviously hostile to Cyclone, why do they persist in keeping his name and (now repudiated) paper on their site
