So long as the US Dollar is accepted around the world, and so long as our government (via the Federal Reserve) continues to increase the money supply, our government can continue to roll up debt and make the interest payments with that newly created money. At the point in time when the rest of the world comes to the conclusion that the emperor has no clothes (the money they are earning in interest is not backed by anything), the party will be over. Until then, the formula for keeping power is to give away more and more to those who produce little to nothing.
