Struftp..., below are the comments regarding the article linked below:

http://itproctology.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-tale-of-containers.html

As you can see, the author has no clue as to what Glassware actually does or how it does it. Thus, many are going to be surprised with the strength of the MSFT offerings to be going into effect this month. The IT gurus haven't been able to see it so to them it is all hocus pocus, but MSFT has been working hard on it for 6 months and obviously found it lacking nothing, in fact found it completely disruptive.

Good article...but doesn't go far enough. It would have been more complete incorporating Glassware 2.0, since it is not only being embraced as the container solution for MS and is being integrated into Azure and Win10, but also leading the NextCloud for MS. It is all about Glassware Containers: http://sphere3d.com/a-container-by-any-other-name-would-smell-as-sweet/

I received all three comments that you posted regarding this article. They were amazingly similar to each other, however I have allowed one through.

Sphere3d you ask about. I can't find any technical details to substantiate any of the market-tecture on Sphere3D's website.

Without knowing any technical details, I put them in the bucket of an isolated process. Not fundamentally differed than AppV or similar application virtualization technologies.

These are processes that are isolated with specific registry space. They don't touch the OS like an 'installed' application does, they still run within a user session container. Thus their isolation boundary is at the session level.

Again, Sphere3D has a website full of market-tecture and no technical details. It is obvious they believe they have something special, but it is not evident.
