Ok I am a rookie to investing

What does it mean when posters are saying "lock the float"?



It means you will be soon entertained with conspiracy theories about imaginary Naked Short Selling being the cause of the recent PPS drop in the stock. A lot of snarling posts about how "they" or some nefarious evil force are after your shares.

After everyone reports they have "locked their shares", will come predictions of a "Short Squeeze". Where a squeeze might actual work for a stock that's in the fruit juice business.
