A powered surf board in itself wasn't such a dumb idea as some seem to think. What happened is the concept was taken over by people who figured they could make more money selling stock than an actual product. People like Ken Owen and Walt Tatum for starters. (and don't forget the x-con Murray)

Page 85 of the July RED BULLETIN (Red Bull):

"Martin Sula, a Formula One engineer from the Czech Republic, attached a two-stroke 100cc engine to a carbon fiber surfboard and created Jetsurf." 12hp and capable of speeds up to 35mph.

I doubt if Mr Sula will make a ton of money and the thing might not pass our EPA with a 2 stroke but the idea - the concept - had and has possibilities. Always had. Knew that the first time that I saw one.
